Team Development
Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa is part of a family-owned business that has been established for over 80 years.
Their vision is to be the centre of excellence for golf, leisure, accommodation and hospitality, and to be the premier resort of choice in East Anglia for all their staff and customers.
In 2018 they invested in team development for their Executive Team consisting of six members, some new, some already in their position for years.
The ambition was to take the team to the next level of leadership, enabling them to focus on a more tactical and strategic level (instead of operational level) and create bonding within the team.
Customer Feedback
Working with Floor made us, as a newly formed Executive team, into a TEAM. The workshops on formulating our Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measurements gave us a clear and shared focus, which is important in our daily hectic operations. Floor's coaching, using Management Drives as a basis, has helped me personally to become more effective and gain more insight in my team members and myself.
As a team we benefitted from Floor's coaching in the sense that she re-focused us when necessary and challenged us on our team dynamics. We are now aware of our strengths and pitfalls, increasing our effectiveness. Floor's feedback and advise has enabled us to have meetings with clear structure and outcomes, which helps us to deliver. I enjoyed working with Floor: she connects easily with people in the business and gains trust quickly.
What did we do?
To achieve the ambition of the team, we worked on three focus areas with the team:
1. Personal and Team development using 360-degrees feedback, Management Drives & Lencioni
2. Strategy Execution using the OGSM-model, focusing on formulating a shared Objective, Goals, Strategies and Measrements, deciding on ownership and actions
3. Effective meetings and delivery of results, structuring the Executive Team’s meetings, more focus on action and roles and responsibilities.
Together we worked on these areas each having its own deliverables for the team.
