Feedback Training

Recognizing that giving and receiving feedback are such important activities when it comes to building an open culture and aiming for continuous improvement, Suffolk Family Carers started with Feedback Training for their Management Team. After this was received with great enthusiasm they decided to roll the training out to all their staff. 

After that FlowMotion provided a train-the-trainer programme so that Suffolk Family Carers could embed the training within the organisation itself for all future employees.

Floor delivered some excellent feedback training to our management team, bringing with her professionalism and energy. She invested time to understand our organisational culture and tailor the training to ensure it met our goals.

Floor built great rapport and created a trusting, yet challenging learning environment with a balance of theory and practical.

Her coaching skills, alongside a bit of Dutch directness and humour, made the sessions enjoyable and most importantly, the learning has stuck. 

The impact has been so positive that we are rolling it out to all our staff and decided to embed the training in our own organisation by completing a Train the Trainer programme with Floor, enabling two members of our staff to deliver the training in the future.

Floor’s delivery of the Feedback Train the Trainer programme will enable us to embed the great work she kick-started earlier in the year. 

She has provided Helen and I with tailored support and materials and given us the freedom to make the ongoing delivery of the feedback training our own. Floor’s passion, energy and knowledge for the topic is infectious and we look forward to facilitating this training well in the future.

 

What did we do?

In an interactive half-day session the participants got to:

…know the ‘Why’ behind giving feedback

…know what important conditions are to give feedback

…know the do’s and don’ts of giving feedback

…understand the feedback-model

…practise with bespoke case examples on giving feedback

…pinpoint defensive strategies

 

The last part of the training was to prepare for a real life case so that participants could put in practice what they learned during the training.
